DEC 2015
“After 24 years of parliamentary activity, I had the farewell I always dreamt of. Under
applause of the entire Assembly of the Republic, with words of praise for the man I am
and recognition for the committed manner in which the politician I was worked from
the leaders of all six parliamentary groups, from right to left of the stands. It was an
emotionally moving moment, this one, effectively, a privilege granted to only a few. It
was the highest point of my public life, one I’ll never forget: 26 November 2014.”
Because on the two occasions in my life when I said “never”, I ended up turning back,
I chose to say goodbye with two words only: “farewell…maybe!”, the perfect title for
this book. A door closes remaining unlocked. If nothing more I’ll undertake in the
world of politics, I won’t be lacking in civic intervention in between the affection and
friendship farming that lies in wait for me.
