The story centers around a worldwide chemical attack that leaves society in ruins. The toxin affects all MAMMALS who ingest it, driving them into a cannibalistic rage.
Known as ‘ferals,’ the infected humans and animals are not zombies. They’re living creatures who have lost their ability to think and reason, making them into mindless killers with a lust for flesh.
The plot begins with a chemical attack (the chemical is ingested through water or spread by the saliva of those who have been exposed to it), a U.S. Marine who leads a group of survivors in San Diego, and the destruction of the Center for Disease Control (CDC), as well as destroyed vehicles, buildings, etc. Any of those elements could be used in the cover design.
